Hi again! It's been 3 weeks since i left for Geraldton, ermm and i guess also about 3 weeks since i wrote anything here :P things have been pretty alright so far, managed to get a lot more flying done compared to perth coz of the better weather there, so i guess being selected to go wasn't too bad a deal :) anyway i had 3 days off this weekend so i decided to come back to perth for a break..
K, more about Geraldton..
1. Weather - It's definitely warmer in Geraldton than in Perth, maybe about 2 or 3 degrees? It doesn't sound like much of a difference, but i could actually feel it when i came back here yesterday. And it's quite a bit more cloudy and rainy in Perth.
2. Food - We don't get catered food like over here, but we're given a daily allowance. Most of the time we end up cooking together or taking out some fast food.. Not too bad really, (some) guys actually CAN cook! :)
3. Accom - It's 5 people to a house (4 houses in all for the 20 of us) There're 3 rooms in each house so one lucky dude gets to have a room to himself - and with a double bed too! well, I wasn't one of them, so i'm sharing a room with one of my friends. And yes, there's only one toilet - but then again, guys don't need that much time in there. heh heh :P Actually, somehow because the rooms are so small, everyone just hangs out together outside, which is pretty cool.
4. Laundry - It's 3 bucks for one load.. and the dryer costs $1/10mins! So most of us try and keep our laundry until we can fill the machine to the brim before washing :) Hey, we're students man.. we can't afford it!
5. Internet Access - Quite sad really. Apparently there's this one Internet cafe in town, but it costs like $8/hr? waraoz.. so now you know why i havne't been online!!
6. Entertainment - There's one main pub - the Freemasons. Not too bad a place i guess (for a small town), at least they have Kilkenny and Hoegarden. Yes, Hoegarden! Then there are 2 clubs - the Circuit and the Zuu. The Circuit has better decor and bigger screens, but the crowd seems to prefer the Zuu. The clubbing population isn't that big there so most of the people you see there are those that moved over from the pub :P sad! Anyway we don't really go out that often, also there's a PS2 in my house, so much more time is spent at home :)
